Personalized Semaglutide + Glycine is a low-dose GLP-1 medication that helps the body produce more insulin, controls appetite, and slows down digestion. It is typically administered as a once-weekly microdose injection under the skin. This low-and-slow approach helps some people lose weight in a slow, sustainable way while reducing the risk of common GLP-1 treatment side effects, like muscle loss.

Dr. B only offers this medicine for weight loss at this time.

About Semaglutide

How does it work?

Semaglutide mimics a natural hormone called GLP-1, which tells your brain that you're full. It also tells your pancreas to produce more insulin, which helps keep your blood sugar stable. By controlling blood sugar levels, curbing hunger and slowing digestion, this reduces appetite and promotes weight loss. Glycine is a vital amino acid that can help reduce inflammation, protect against oxidative stress, and prevent muscle wasting for those undergoing medical weight loss treatment.

What does it treat?

Alongside healthy eating and exercise, personalized Semaglutide + Glycine helps some people of higher weights manage their weight. Semaglutide may even reduce the chances of specific heart issues (like heart attacks and strokes) in heavier individuals. Because personalized Semaglutide + Glycine is prescribed in low doses (microdoses), it can treat those looking for a low-and-slow approach to sustainable weight loss.

What forms does it come in?

Personalized Semaglutide + Glycine is available as an injectable medication. It comes in vials and is usually taken once a week. Patients new to GLP-1 treatment often start at a low dose and increase the dosage as their bodies adjust. Those who have been on traditional GLP-1 medications may use Semaglutide + Glycine to transition to a lower-dose maintenance treatment. In that case, they may start at higher doses and “de-escalate” to lower doses.

Semaglutide vs. Wegovy®

Wegovy® is a brand-name medication, prescribed in standardized dosages approved by the FDA. Personalized Semaglutide + Glycine is created by licensed compounding pharmacies at significantly lower dosages and with additional ingredients to help curb the risk of side effects (like muscle wasting).
